Zootopia

"In a city of anthropomorphic animals, a rookie bunny cop and a cynical con artist fox must work together to uncover a conspiracy."
Hey everyone!
It's me Ken!

What will I be reviewing today?
None other than 1 of the 3 movies released in 2016 I've seen so far and the movie mentioned in the title of this post Zootopia!

Zootopia is an animated film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. From the biggest elephant to the tiniest shrew, the city of Zootopia is a beautiful metropolis where all animals live peacefully with one another. Determined to prove her worth, Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) becomes the first official bunny cop on the police force. When 14 predator animals go missing, Judy immediately takes the case. Partnering with a smooth talking fox named Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), Judy must piece together all the clues as to where the predators are and who is behind it all.

My Two Cents:
In my opinion, this is one of the best animated movies of 2016 (Even better than Finding Dory to be honest. Dont tell hardcore Finding Nemo fans! ). One reason why I think its one of the best is its amazing story-line and wonderful character development. The character development is one of the best in while.  As Judy Hopps enters Zootopia and its police force, you feel the sense of nervousness as if you are in her shoes. *It kind of reminds me of my first day of uni*. You can see that she has an uplifting and bright personality and isnt afraid to tackle any challenges. When Nick Wilde is introduced, you initially see him in an ice cream store with his so called "son" trying to buy ice cream but is denied. This is when Judy's bright personality comes in and helps them. However Nick Wilde isnt who he seems he is. In fact, he is a smooth and troublesome fox and throughout the movie their relationship grows.
The storyline is just as good. I wont be putting any spoilers of course. But the movie surprises us in many ways and there are multiple plot holes to keep you guessing.
If I were to give it a rating out of ten, a solid 8/10 would be very acceptable.

The Secret Life of Pets

Hi Guys! :)

It's Olivia again here doing another movie review
This blog will be about Pets.
Bet y'all can guess what movie I am referring to.
Yea, it's there guys, in the title "The Secret Life of Pets"

Let's start with a question
Who doesn't love dogs ? <3

Well, from the introduction above, it's already briefly the genre of this movie.

Comedy superstars Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart make their animated feature-film debuts in The Secret Life of Pets, which co-starts Elie Kemper, Lake Bell, Jenny Slate, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress and Albert Brooks. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy produce the film directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me).

Synopsis: Taking a place in Manhattan apartment building, Max's life as a favourite pet is turned upside down, when his owner brings home a sloppy mongrel named Duke. They have to put their quarrels behind when they find out that an adorable white bunny named Snowball is building an army of abandoned pets determined to take revenge on all happy-owned pets and their owners.

I mean.... Animals are cute but talking, animated animals are even cuter.

In Time (for another movie review)

Hey movie fanatics, I am back with another futuristic movie review.

https://au.pinterest.com/pin/415597871834206529/

An interesting dystopic movie with the intriguing concept of time being used as a currency and the amount of time a person has to live being the currency used by them. The trailers didn’t really seem that interesting when I first saw them taking away all my anticipation for the film itself. However, the concept of time quickly appealed to me and I wanted to watch this film more than ever. Set in a futuristic time but with the same issues of the current world, this film wasn’t up to par in terms of where they could’ve taken the film and the concept, however, it was still a good watch. The use of minimal green screen and editing combined with the emotive acting presented by the actors is what made this film even more realistic and seem as though we could end up in this future. However, the Robin Hood style vibe and story became quite predictable and after the initial introduction to the film, viewers would get quickly bored of the movie and not want to watch it further. It was too fast paced for people to truly relate properly to the main character, Will Salas (Justin Timberlake), even despite his extraordinary acting skills. Overall, a good movie with a good concept but quite dry and causes a loss of interest.

Would I watch it again? Probably not

Finding Dory

picture from: http://pixar.wikia.com/wiki/File:Finding_Dory_UK_Poster.jpg

One year after her journey with Nemo, Dory is curious about her past. Unfortunately for her, her memory doesn't offer much help. But, with Nemo and Marlin by her side, she embarks on a  journey to find out her past and her roots. Such as, who are her parents, and where did she learn to speak Whale.
Dory searches the ocean for them, until she forgets what she was looking for. There are other stressful separations between friends too, as well as some peril and tense moments (like predator giant squid the characters need to get away from and action-packed escape antics), as well as slapsticks and near misses.
Eventually and after encountering their fair share of wild experiences, the trio manages to reunited Dory with her family. Dory's story is ultimately uplifting, as is the movie's treatment of her disability, which is never ignored. Finding Dory's themes of teamwork, perseverance, family, friendship, and unconditional love are relatable for even the little kids.

*tip: make sure that you watch till the end of the credits because there is an extra scene featuring friends fro the first film!*

after watching Finding Dory, it reminds me of Ellen Degeneres.
who doesn't love Ellen Degeneres?
and yes, surprisingly Ellen Degeneres and Albert Brooks are set to cross paths with all of the comedic all-starts that makes Finding Dory much more rewarding.

so, i ended up giving this movie 8.5/10 rate.

I just watched the boy this movie few days ago. First, obviously this is a horror movie. Therefore, its better to watch it at the night time. Alrite, so this movie is about the parents wanna hire someone to take care of the child and the main girl character was the chosen one and she takes the job. However, she didnt follow the to do list instruction so there were some strange things happened to her and the doll just did something to freak her out and she just started to find out the story behind the dolls. This movie is kinda fun to watch. There was a plot twist which is good and scary .

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE SERIES!

HEY GUYS! BACK WITH ANOTHER AWESOME MOVIE REVIEW!

http://simonpegg.net/category/posters/

Just when you think there aren’t any new gadgets to invent and this franchise can’t get any better, this franchise proves you completely wrong by presenting another great film with a plot that will have you biting your nails and about to fall off the edge of your seat (nothing wrong with that, just don’t break your hip :P ) This movie series is what made my childhood so much fun, and continues to do that for kids even in this age. The name Ethan Hunt has become so synonymous with Tom Cruise and has become a household name with kids pretending to be him and saying the iconic line “Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is… this message will self-destruct in 3..2..1”.
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol: Phonebooth

Amazing plot along with excellent actors and movie editing is what has made this franchise so successful. The continuous suspense on what will happen to Ethan next and all his interpersonal relationships with the recurring characters from the franchise keeps the audience wanting more and wanting the franchise to never end. It has been running for 20 years now, and hopefully will keep running for a lot longer.

Rating: 10/10 Would I watch again? Yes!

Coach Carter (2005)

It's time for another review!
This time its my all time favourite movie Coach Carter!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coach_Carter#/media/File:Coach_Carter_poster.JPG

What makes this movie my most favourite?
Quite simply, I love basketball. But its not just the basketball in this movie, I also admire the characters because throughout the movie you tend to feel sorry for them but also you want them to succeed. The players of the team are seen to be ruthless and not seem to care about anything. But with the addition of the new coach Ken Carter (Samuel L. Jackson). The team starts to straighten themselves  up due to Coach Carters strict rules and regulations towards playing on the team. But this causes some of the players to disagree and leave the team. However this does not stop Coach Carter to adjust to his rules and continues to work around the struggles and changes.

This true story is truly inspiring as it portrays multiple morals and it makes you feel like you are in their (main characters) shoes as they deal with struggles and how they overcome them.
My favourite quote from the films is:
"Timo Cruz: Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us."
Rating: 7/10
